Quentin Crisp (25 December 1908(1908-12-25) – 21 November 1999), born Denis Charles Pratt, was an English writer and raconteur. He became a gay icon in the 1970s after publication of his memoir, The…

Nikola Tesla 2 Replies

The story of Nikola Tesla is a fascinating, while also sad tale. Some of you may not know of him and that is so very unfortunate. To me, he was definately the man out of time. The world was not ready…

National Vampire Disaster

I'm in love with this show 'True Blood'. Its absolutely sexy, rauchy, and dubious. I thought the first season couldnt be topped. But after the second, which is ending this coming friday, I am totally excited and will be creaming my panties when the third season begins. THe show is are based on :'The Southern Vampire Series' which is a guilty summer read. FULL of sex, blood, and fangs. Its through the view of Sookie Stackhouse, a 25 year old delectable blond southern waittress. She works at Merlo… Continue

Welcome to the new Reality Jam

After months of experimentation, contemplation, conversations, and procrastination, the new Reality Jam has arrived.

While the original format was enjoyed by many, it grew too fast for its own good and began experiencing inevitable developmental problems. The number of features it offered were confusing to new members and spread the core group of active participants in too many directions. The site also lost the focus that I had originally intended for it. It began to take the shape of another… Continue

Stay Tuned For The New Streamlined Reality Jam

Just wanted everyone to know that this site is still active and is undergoing some big changes to improve on some of the issues with the original format. We're in the process of making the site simpler to use and with more of a focus. In the next few days I'll be putting out a full explanation. Thanks to everyone for sticking with us. Your patience is greatly appreciated!

Where have I been?

Well, I'm sure you all know that I've made some major changes in my life. A new home for myself and my son, Jesse. I've been at a new job for nearly two months, now, and start a second job in the morning. I am trying to establish myself here in Gainesville, and not sink in the process. Wish me (and Jesse) luck! School starts next week and he'll need good vibes, too.

Yes, by the way. Shad and I have split for good. I am still in mourning but, the sun will rise again tomorrow.

Getting Back Here Soon

I just wanted to write a quick blog to let everyone know I haven't abandoned this awesome community. I've had family visiting from out of town and it has taken up a lot of time that I would have spent on this site. But soon I will be back into the regular swing of things. I miss you all!

Gainesville

I'm tired, scared, a little pissy, and settled. I need a couple of days to screw my head back on, but I'm BAAAAACK!

My New Phone

It's late at night and I'm too tired to go over this, so please excuse any errors or typos. Since this is really on my mind I wanted to get it out there before it becomes a vague memory.

I've never been the type of person who has to be the first one to get the latest gadget. It seems to me that when things first come out they are over-priced and still have problems which need to be worked out. I was one of the last ones in my group of friends to get a cell phone. I can still remember the day wh… Continue

Powwowing: A Persistent American Esoteric Tradition

Powwowing: A Persistent American Esoteric Tradition

David W Kriebel, Ph.D.

Powwowing, or brauche in the Pennsylvania Dutch dialect, is a magico-religious practice whose chief purpose is the healing of physical ailments in humans in animals, although it has had other aims as well, such as conferring protection from physical or spiritual harm, bringing good luck, and revealing hidden information. The practice has been present on this continent since the first German-speaking settlements were est… Continue

A Shout Out

Sometimes, I am blown away by the strength bestowed on us by the forces of humanity. I am often in awe of the things that we can succomb to, and the things that we can overcome. As you can guess, I am a fighter and a survivor. My shout out goes to a woman who is stronger than she knows. She has overcome the demon of peril, and I have bore witness.

You know who you are, and I support you, cheer for you, and am inspired by you.

Too often, in our scrambled and frenzied world, true bravery is unno… Continue
